Oh, Summer!

noisy!

I live in Ontario. It has been a mild winter but I still wake up everyday wishing it were summer. I love skiing/boarding, sledding, snowmobiling and all the fun winter sports but nothing beats sitting outside, no shoes, on the beach relaxing. I crave bright, sunny, warm days. Spring is good too. I think it’s the most beautiful, refreshing time of year. Everything is new again, the winter dirt and scum get washed away. When everything around you is bright beautiful colours it makes me happier than the dull grey winters. Four and half months and counting. I can’t wait!

My Link to the World

March 16th, 2010

Right now, I currently own an HP Laptop. I love it! The only thing I don’t like about it, is that it came installed with Windows Vista. Now, it’s not HP’s fault Vista sucks so I won’t blame them. I could have it upgraded to Windows 7 and probably will at some point, but it’s only one thing I don’t like. I love the size of my screen, the clarity and speakers. I even like the little things such as the Fn keys on the keyboard are a really pretty colour of blue, which looks great with the silver computer. Of course I would never base a computer purchase on the colour of the keys, but it’s still nice. The laptop has a full keyboard, including a side number pad. So. Much. Better. All laptops should have this by default. When I need to buy a new laptop, because let’s face it, I bought this just last year and it’s already ancient in “technology years” I would have no hesitation going for another HP.

If I Had All the Time In the World…

March 13th, 2010

If, tomorrow, I won the lottery or had some other great windfall and never had to work a day in my life again, I’d still probably work. Sure, I would travel, volunteer, visit people, read a lot more, spend loads of time on the computer and clean…wait, that’s a lie, I wouldn’t clean. I would do all those thing but I would still get bored. I would still work doing something I love. For instance, I may work part time as a travel agent, planning my own trips as well! There would be so many distractions I could fill my time with but most of them would be superficial with no real benefit to anyone including myself (except maybe the volunteering).

Movie Lover

March 9th, 2010

I love movies. I love all types of movies. I love watching a funny comedy with a group of friends or a cute chick flick on my own.  It’s not often I make my boyfriend watch cheesey romance movies, but I love those too. I’ve been liking horror movies (ie. Saw movies) less and less but still enjoy watching them with people who are easily frightening, it’s just so much fun to scare them! If a movie will make me laugh or cry, jump or sit on the edge of my seat I’ll enjoy it. Seeing books come to life on the Silver Screen is always great. I may not agree with how a character looks or a plot twist the movie industry people add in, but I will always see books brought to life before my eyes. I grew up in Northern Ontario. There is not much to do up there but every week, multiple times a week, my mom and I would go to the “local” (local being 45 minutes away) swimming pool. Swimming is easily my favourite sport. I’m pretty sure I was a fish in a past life. I ended up making friend’s who I would only see when we were swimming and bringing friends from school to go with us. Sometimes we’d say in town late and go see a movie. I loved the time with my mom and still make sure she is a daily part of my life, even though I live hours away from her.
