A moment with god

June 29th, 2010

If I could have anything in the world, what would it be? That was the question posed to me by my little friend Jonathan last week. I looked him right in the eye and said – ” A Moment with God ” – he looked back at me and said ” I was thinking the same thing”. But really, people, wouldn’t a face to face moment with the big man upstairs offer a lot of resolution to you? My mother asked me why I couldn’t be patient and wait until I get to heaven. But the truth is, I’m not sure if that’s where I will be going when I die.

I wanted to take minute to write about something that really means a lot to me. That would be my church. I have been going there since I was barely out of the womb. Of course, I don’t remember those days, but I know that god recognizes my face every time I enter that holy place. It is a sacred place that will always mean something to me. Of course, much of it is an assortment of listening to people I don’t really trust – but that is part of the package. I accept the package that is church because it means a lot to me.

Sundays with grandma

June 22nd, 2010

I’ve been having an incredible time today recalling my childhood memories. One of my favorite of these were sundays with my grand mother which I had many of. every sunday I would greet her at her doorstep with a gift basket of tasty fruits and gift cards which I had gathered from local retailers. She was always kind even though she had no use for these treats. She would read to me from long books. She called me pippin the hunchback, but her worse never hurt me and when she passed I was devastated. Goodbye and good luck, my sweet grandmother.

Paragliding

June 17th, 2010

I’ve invented a new sport for fun. It’s called paragliding and it’s truly a blast. Basically, you start with a hanglider. These can be picked up at your local hanglider or extreme sports retailer. I can’t tell you what to expect to pay for one, but I paid over nine thousand dollars for mine. It’s a pure carbon fiber construction. The next step is to find a large cliff. The next step is basically to go ahead and jump off it. You will find yourself sailing high above the clouds and it’s what I’ve been doing for fun this week.
