Scotland is a great place to live apart from the weather. The Scottish weather is dreadful, we even have a word “dreich” that means cold, damp and grey and describes Scottish weather perfectly! It rains constantly and can even rain all through the summer. Otherwise, Scotland is a very pretty country with very green countryside (because of all the rain!) and beautiful hills and mountains. Scotland has a rich and interesting history which goes back over a thousand years, and there are many old castles to visit to learn about Scottish history. It is a unique place, with its own personality and friendly occupants!

Today the weather was cold and for the first time it really felt like summer was over and winter was approaching. Today I dressed to keep warm – not that it was freezing outside, but I hate to be cold. I wore my new skinny Abercrombie jeans with a pair of Ugg boots – they are my favourite things! One of the best things about winter is definitely wearing Uggs! – on top I wore a black tank top and a new striped sweater, the sweater has tight sleeves and a wide body so it kind of hangs like a poncho. Although I love the summer and prefer the warmer weather, I do like getting wrapped up in the winter.

Even though it doesn’t run anymore, I can still watch old episodes over and over and never get bored. Friends started when I was a young teenager and it was on at 9pm on a Friday night. My friends and I used to come in from playing outside and gather in my bedroom to watch Friends on my tiny portable TV. Then when I went to university, my flatmates and I would all look forward to new episodes of Friends each week. I think it was so successful because it spoke to everyone, the characters were loveable, everyone identified with them and the writing was fantastic.
