Playing with the dog imparts time pass, entertainment and fun. To play ‘hide and seek’ with a dog is very interesting. Throw a ball a few yards away and ask the dog to bring it. The friend will soon obey. Tell it to stand on two legs. No doubt, it will do so. The quality of obedience of the dog can be increased by such games apart from getting enjoyment. One should give extreme care in safeguarding the health of the dog. It must be washed at least once a day. Nutritious food should be given. Dogs love fish, meat and bones very much. I feel that I was very lucky as a child, I had a great family and great friends, and grew up in a perfect location. Our street was Victorian – a circle, with a park in the middle – the road was a private road so it was very quiet and from a very early age we were allowed out to play in the park. There were a lot of kids around my age living there too, so we played lots of games like rounders and hunt, had bike races around the park, played football and climbed trees. It was happy and fun and I cherish those memories.

My first vacation without my parents was on a youth group trip to Switzerland and it was a wonderful trip. We stayed in a little village called Unspunnen which was close to Interlaken and had beautiful scenery and cute chalets dotted on all the hillsides. One night there was a fantastic thunderstorm and the whole mountain range visible from our hotel was lit up at night. We visited the Jungfrau which is the top of Europe, and also the Matterhorn, another European mountain. We also visited many Swiss towns, including Grindlewald and Lucerne both of which were very pretty and typically Swiss. Overall it was a fantastic trip.

I love all kind of books, but when I have time I love to curl up with a good novel and allow myself to be carried away into a work of fiction. My favourite fiction books are fantasy-type novels where the author has created a world which is different from our own. Books like Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and novels by Jasper Fforde are among my favourites in this genre. I love the sense of adventure and intrigue in such novels, the idea that anything can happen because the stories are not bound by the laws of nature or physics – anything is possible and that is what makes the stories so wonderful.
