Think of the most important room in your house, Of course it’s your bedroom. Without a bedroom you don’t sleep and without sleep you are not productive. Since your bedroom is so important it stands to reason you world invest money and time. The first thing you need is a proper bed, not one of those metal beds. Personally I like the ones with water in them. Now if you are thinking of your mom’s water bed I could understand your frown. Water beds have come a long way from then. So once you have picked you favorite small daybed with trundle we move on to the curtains. You may not think this is important but you must be able to sleep at any time of day and night in your bedroom. So you must pick curtains that are big and thick. This stops all light that might slip in when you are trying to catch some shut eye. Think curtains also help insulate the windows. This is all you need for a perfect bedroom to get great sleep in.

A Realization

July 14th, 2011

I grew up in Eastern Long Island with a small group of friends. My best friend was Marley Kraft, who I spent a majority of my free time with growing up. Over the past few years, Marley has grown increasingly distant and has substituted my friendship with that of anybody else. He had no reason to suddenly change temperatures on me and then not respond to any of my messages, for over two years. Finally, this past week I called him and left him a very vehement message in his voicemail, because of course he didn’t answer. I told him that I had not forgotten our friendship and all we had seen and planned on doing together. I said that we had both grown up and that if he wanted to contact me, it would be welcomed, but if he didn’t bother replying to any of my messages, that he shouldn’t expect anything from me. His immediate reaction was to call me and beg to spend time with me.

Almost every group of friends I have associated myself with has at least one person willing to get his friends to do something stupid with him. I am a teenager who is curious about how the human brain works and how I subjectively function in reaction to the intake of certain substances. I have been in several situations where the use of these substances has been detremental to my situation. Earlier this year I had applied to work for the government and they let me through the process until they asked me to interview. In the application I had written that within the last twelve months I had not consumed any substances, which was true. However, my interview was scheduled for June of this summer. Earlier in the month I had been hanging out with my friend Alec who let me drink at his house. As the night progressed, I consumed something and realized the next morning that I was going to receive a polygraph test upon arrival at the interview. They asked me if I had taken anything over the past twelve months, and when hooked up to a polygraph, there’s no escaping. I didn’t end up receiving the job because of peer pressure.

An Apetite

July 7th, 2011

Sushi is my number one go to food. For as long as I can remember, I have loved the california roll, but when I turned sixteen my taste buds allowed me to enjoy other kinds of fish. I went from enjoying just crab in California Rolls, to enjoying Tuna, Salmon, Yellow Tail, Eel, etc. I even learned how to make sushi from my Varsity Wrestling coach who turned out to be a professional sushi chef! Who would have thought. Sushi has always been a constant, along with duck and roasted vegitables. The tender, dark meat of a perfectly seasoned duck makes my mouth water from just thinking about it, and roasted vegitables are delectable when added to any meal, or even on their own. If I were to eat any three things for the rest of my life, it would be sushi, duck, and roasted vegitables. Not only do they taste great, but they also cover every healthy food group!
