Busy as always
Drive my son to a piano lesson and wait in the car while listening to my daughter read from her reading book. Fight afternoon traffic to get back home. Reheat the hamburger and wild rice soup from last night’s dinner and give it to the kids, and some for my husband. Finish up any homework and check for behavior reports. Oh, good, no one is grounded tonight. Tell my son to get his football gear on and send him out with his father, who doubles as his coach. Clean up from dinner, and listen to my daughter’s chatter as I sit back down at the computer. The next two hours are spent cleaning up from dinner, folding the laundry, and waiting for the boys to return from football practice. The guys get back at 7:50pm, which means it’s time to help the kids pack lunches for tomorrow, shower, dress for bed, get their clothes out for the morning, pray together, brush their teeth, read a book, and get into bed. Now it’s my husband’s time with me and mine with him. We’re so tired we sit on the couch and turn on the television until we can’t stay up any longer. The we head off to bed and say “good night.” It’s a pretty good day.
