From Rags to Riches

August 11th, 2011

If I won the lottery, I truly would be eternally grateful, however, I doubt my life would change that much. I would be a beautiful home to live in, a gas-efficient car – more than likely a hybrid – and buy my family anything and everything they want. I am not too concerned with owning tons of things I’ll never use. Mostly, I will ensure that I have a warm and inviting home to live comfortably in for the rest of my days. I’d save money so that I’d never have to work and I could spend my time reading and spending time with the ones I loved.

Midnight Margaritas

August 8th, 2011

My mother and I have always been close. She and I are like best friends we tell each other almost everything. Anyway, one night, when I was seventeen we were watching Practical Magic together and there was a scene in which apparently the aunts would have margaritas at midnight. Well anyway, I told my mother we should do that and that will be our way of talking to each other more. It really helped us communicate more especially after I was always busy with school. I will definitely pass that on, just to make sure the lines of communication are always kept open, that and I relate to the movie somewhat and like knowing I do something they did.

Waking Up in Vegas

You only get one chance to really do your honeymoon right, so I would probably decide to go to Las Vegas. It’s not exactly what most people would consider a vacation spot, but I have my reasons. First, my spouse and I would have our entire lives ahead of us to experience the world and all the romantic hotspots. Secondly, if we went to a foreign country and different things went wrong like we couldn’t adjust to the climate, the food, or we got sick because of the food, our entire honeymoon would be ruined. However, staying in the United States would ensure we ate good food we knew wouldn’t make us sick. Lastly, we might get lucky and win lots of money in Las Vegas.

Home is where the heart is

August 2nd, 2011

This may sound cheesy or corny, but I believe my greatest achievement would have to be my ability to make people feel loved. I tend to create relationships with people in such a way that they feel at home whenever they are with me.  Actually, a lot of people have said that to me, “home is where the heart is and my heart is with you.” I feel that’s one of the greatest accomplishments a person can do, is make someone feel loved and be loved. It is clichéd, I suppose, but that doesn’t make it any less important. If I never do anything at all in life, I will be satisfied, more than actually, knowing I made people feel loved and safe.
